Meditation

We challenge you to take 2 minutes for yourself each day.  It can be when you wake up in the morning or right before bed at night.  Its just 2 minutes.  If you can give yourself two minutes of silence to look inside your mind and be still, you will be giving yourself a great gift.  

Meditation is the act of "going inside" oneself in search of one's authentic self.  To get started, find a comfortable and quiet place in your house or apartment where you feel calm.  Sit on a pillow with your legs crossed and hands resting face up on your knees.  Close your eyes and focus on the spot on your forehead right between your eyes.  This spot is called your third eye and in eastern tradition is known as the window to levels of higher consciousness.  The goal of meditation is to quiet the mind.  This can be really hard at first.  If you find your mind wandering, acknowledge it and gently bring yourself and your mind back to a place of stillness.  Many people find focusing on a candle or repeating a mantra helps them meditate.  A very easy mantra to remember is "OM".  Say OM every time you breathe out.
